embroidery & voice installation
recycled textiles, embroideryhoops, Mouliné Cotton threads, pendulum clock, cupboard, voice
This immersive installation blends the mediums of embroidery, pendulum clock, and household objects to create a hauntingly exploration of loneliness. The delicate stitches on the embroideries echo the repetitive, almost monotonous, ticking of a pendulum clock, evoking a sense that time is slowly slipping away. The inclusion of a cupboard and chatter of everyday life adds an eerie familiarity, enticing the viewer into the narrative of isolation and solitude. The interplay between the different elements of the installation creates a powerful emotional impact, encouraging us to reflect on the loneliness that often haunts the corners of our daily lives. This work compels us to consider the complexity of human emotions, of our emotions, and the ways in which they can be expressed through the seemingly ordinary objects, and trials and tribulations our daily routines.
The embroidery pieces are selected from the narratives of the lonely, capturing the essence of what loneliness feels like.
